Originally from "The Bronx", New York, and of Dominican decent, Sandra was surrounded by many forms of music. Although she enjoyed them all...she fell in love with SALSA . Living in the "Salsa Mecca" Sandra was able to learn from different instructors. While working for an entertainment company in NY she began to choreograph routines for weddings, sweet sixteens, and quinceañeras. She eventually developed a unique style of her own and continued to develop her skills as a Salsa dancer.
Born in Humacao, Puerto Rico and raised in the mountains of Maunabo. Cèsar was always enthusiastic about his culture and it's music. Growing up he was exposed to many forms of music of which SALSA became his favorite. Cèsar learned to dance from his parents and cultivated his style by adding influences from African, Cuban, Puerto Rican, and New York movements. Cèsar's fundamental styles and techniques were acquired by studying jazz, modern, hip-hop, tap and hispanic dancers. It wasn't until later on that Cèsar was able to master the style of dancing that he is most passionate about...MAMBO.
In November 2000, Cèsar and Sandra, met in Virginia and combined their love for MAMBO and their creative flair to form - The Clave Tumbao Dance Project!
